Purpose/Goal: Provide and streamline the most up-to-date information and public-facing resources regarding global health security architecture, programming, and interagency coordination at the national and global levels for global health staff and other funding and hiring mechanisms whose work intersects with global health security, biodefense strategy, and/or international infectious disease response.
Role: Project Lead, Head Instructional Designer and eLearning Developer
Tools: Storyline 360, Adobe Creative Suite, ElevenLabs AI, Adobe Firefly Image AI
Challenges/Barriers: During the design of this project, we worked closely with SMEs to pare down all unnecessary and extraneous information. After identifying what was most critical to the course, we decided to break up the content into three courses-basic, intermediate, and advanced, not only to scaffold and chunk the content, but to also tailor each course to its intended audience. This was the first of the three, covering basic global health security, with the second and third courses diving deeper into the nuances of global health security programming.
Evaluation: Learner reaction survey (option, end-of-course), course assessment, learner analytics through LMS, post-mortem with SMEs and follow-up reporting

Role: Instructional Designer, eLearning Developer & Project Manager
Tools: Storyline 360 & PowerPoint
Challenges/Barriers: Under ideal circumstances, the training content involved in this project would be broken into three separate modules of 15-20 minutes each. However, learner time constraints revealed during the needs analysis for the client led to the development of a single eLearning course with pared down, methodically-chunked information and substantial opportunities for practice.
